Hello Bear and Chook Rappers,
We think Bear and Chook are friends because they help each other. Chook helped Bear get home after he went in the sea. Chook gave Bear honey toast so that he would feel happy.
We think they are a good team because they are kind. Bear was kind to Chook when he wanted to go home. He helped Chook climb the hill.
KT and K1C like to swim, go shopping and share with their friends.

Hi rappers,
We can tell Bear and Chook are friends from two things.
1. Bear and Chook play together all the time and they stay together the whole day. We can tell this because in the books it tells you the time. Lisa uses words like, “breakfast”, “morning” and “dinner”.
2. Bear and Chook care about each other.

G’day Bookrappers,
We can tell that Bear and Chook are friends because they always stay with each other. When they are walking and sleeping they are close to each other. They also play with each other.
Bear is always supporting Chook when he gets scared. Chook says, “I want to go home” and Bear says that they’re nearly there.

G’Day Rappers,
We know Bear and Chook are friends because they like to spend time together playing, walking in the sand, relaxing and dancing. Bear and Chook like to follow each other everywhere and they always stay together no matter what happens.
Chook is Bear’s friend because she trusts Bear enough to go on heaps of adventures with him even if she is a little scared. Bear is Chook’s friends because when they go on their adventures he always looks out for Chook. Bear even got really worried when he thought he had lost Chook underneath the stage that had collapsed in ‘Bear and Chook’ when they were dancing.
We also think Bear and Chook must be friends because they want to grow into old bears and chooks together!

Hello Everybody!
Sorry for the late reply.
2 D have discussed at length why Bear and Chook are friends. We did a Think, Pair, Share to come up with our answers, and made the most of being able to work with our friends.
We came up with a huge number of reasons we think Bear and Chook are friends.
Some include:
They both like adventures.
Bear and Chook have GREAT fun together.
They stick together all the time.
Bear is always calling to Chook, “are you ok?”
They were nice to each other when they had all their adventures.
Bear and Chook help each other.
They have a wonderful friendship.
Bear and Chook like doing the opposites of each other, but they compliment each other.
They have a strong friendship because they like doing things together.
We cannot wait to read and write some more about Bear and Chook.

Hi everyone,
We absolutely loved reading Bear and Chook and have found that some of us show similar traits to Bear and Chook.
Some of us like adventures just like Bear and some of us prefer quieter, less risky things to do like Chook. We think it is fantastic that Bear and Chook show such a great friendship together and hope our friendships can be just as good.
We can easily tell they are great friends by-
The way they do things together.
They look out for each other – usually Chook is telling Bear to “Watch out!” But Bear is very worried when he can’t find Chook when they stage collapses.
They get along well together and try new things.
They are kind to each other.
We enjoyed the book so much that we have spent the last couple of weeks writing a recount of it and have word processed out work. Can’t wait to do more things about Bear and Chook.

We know Bear and Chook are friends because they go everywhere with each other. They like and care for each other and are nice to each other.
They help and look after each other.
They live together.
They travel together. They take turns at being upset.
They love to talk to each other.
They have fun together.
We know they are friends because they are playing together.
Bear and Chook are doing team work.
They went to the beach together.
Chook made Bear warm honey toast.
We loved watching the video of Bear and Chook by the sea.

Bear and Chook are such good friends and that’s one of the reasons we like it so much. We started discussing about what qualities make a good friend. This is what we thought.
What is a friend?
Anouk: “They stand up for you.”
Jordan: “When you’re hurt they will help with you.”
Sacha: “Someone who will play with you.”
Ben: “They will share things with you.”
Olivia: “Will keep you company when you’re alone.”
How do we know that Bear and Chook are friends?
Kiera: “They slept and walked together.”
Andrew: “Chook gave warm toast to Bear.”
Elodie: “They looked after each other.”
Aidan: “They went to the beach together.”
Jack: “They rested under the stars and moon together.”
Jasmine: “Chook looked after Bear when he was scared.”
Kitty: “Chook and Bear went to look at the rock pools together.”
Oli: “They dug a hole together.”
Jack: “Chook was worried that Bear was okay.”
Ellis: “Bear looked after Chook at the beginning and, in the end, Chook looked after Bear.”

Hi rappers,
We know that Bear and Chook are friends because they are always kind to each other. They support and help one another. They speak nicely to each other and never say nasty things. Bear and Chook enjoy playing together and have lots of fun. Even though they may disagree about some things, they still remain friends.
